Easy question really - it's a great activity, it gets you outside and it's a great way to exercise and be outside with friends. Does that sound a bit too easy? You've heard stories that it's expensive to play, you need lots of equipment and you need a handicap to play?
If you are a beginner then why not ring your local course and book a lesson to see if you like it? You don't need to have any clubs as your instructor will be able to provide you with the basics - and don't worry about not being able to hit the ball, the instructor will have seen it many times!

Get into Golf is a website set up by the the English Golf Union and the English Women's Golf Association to do exactly what is says ' get more people into golf'. We also noticed that this great website tells you where you can get a free lesson - now we certainly think that is worth checking out!
